Hello, my name is Amy Miller, and I love to travel. My mom was an immigrant from Holland that moved to Canada when she was 6 and my dad was a Marine, originally from Minnesota. We moved around a lot when I was young but then settled in Alabama when my dad got out of the Marine Corps. My vacations growing up were always to visit family as we had none in Alabama. So, we drove all over the United States and Canada on our vacations sightseeing along the way. I loved all the amazing history and beauty we encountered and there began my love for travel.
I have grown my education in European history through the history of my family. My mom's parents hid Jews during WWII in Friesland and my dad's father and uncles fought as Marines during WWII so our European heritage also stirred up a desire to learn more about traveling the world as I got older.
When I started my own family, my husband loved to travel as well. We lived in Northern Virginia for 12 years as we had our kids and were very fortunate to spend much time in all the Smithsonian museums which increased my interest in traveling the world.
I started off by planning my sister's wedding at a Sandals resort in Jamaica. Over the next few decades of raising my 3 children, I became the unofficial 'travel planner' for friends and family. As my children got to high school-age, I started thinking about what I wanted to "be when I grow up"and soon to become an empty-nester and decided I would make it official. In addition to my love of travel, I also love to learn & it is a good thing because there is a lot to learn in the travel industry!
These experiences influenced me enough that I became a CTA, Certified Travel Associate.
My background is in accounting & finance. I then moved on to customer service and administrative work while raising my family. These jobs have made me the perfect person to plan detailed vacations while taking all aspects into consideration.
I have been learning and planning amazing, unique and memorable vacations for the past 10 years.I have completed training & cruised most cruise lines. Some of my favorites are Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruise Line, Holland America Line, and Disney Cruise LIne. I am also well versed in tropical and all-inclusive beach vacations, such as Sandals & Beaches Resorts, Dreams Resorts, and XCaret Resorts & Adventure Parks. I have extensive education for vacations in Alaska, Hawaii, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Walt Disney World, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, and more.
I am so excited to be working with an amazing host agency, Nexion. I am also fortunate to be working in a community of travel advisors that have a vast pool of knowledge for me to draw from to put together the perfect vacation plans for my clients.
My goal for my clients is to have a hassle-free travel experience while learning, relaxing, recharging and reconnecting with the people they love. The memories they will make will last a lifetime.
Travel is one of the few things you buy that makes you richer....so, let me help make you a millionaire.
